Wafuku (Traditional Japanese clothes.)

Wafuku are traditional Japanese clothes, which are also called kimono.

When you wear wafuku, the left side of the clothes must be wrapped over the right.

Unlike with western style clothes, both men and women wear their clothing with the left side over the right.

In Japan, when people passed away they are dressed in white kimono as burial clothes which are called Shiro-Shozoku.

The way to have a dead person wear the shiro-shozoku is to wrap the wafuku in the opposite way, tucking the left side under the right. Thus, if you wear wafuku the wrong way you may look like a dead person or ghost.
