Here is how to pass through the Chinowa and pray!
I visited a shrine one day in June.
There was a cogon grass ring called Chinowa in front of the worship building.
This is used for “Nagoshi-no-oharae”, a special ritual for purification performed on June 30th. This is placed during the entire month of June for visitors.
これが、「茅の輪くぐり」の参拝の仕方です。
6月のある日に神社を訪れました。
拝殿の前に茅の輪と呼ばれるチガヤで作られた輪がありました。
これは6月30日に行われる、特別な清めの儀式、「夏越の大祓」という儀式に使われるものです。参拝者のために6月の間ずっと置かれています。
