Lotus flowers(蓮の花)

Lotus flowers and its leaves are on the end of stems which extend from the surface of the water.

Lotus has the meaning of pure heart, because it blooms very beautifully even though it sucks up muddy water.

In Buddhism, it is said that the Lotus is a symbol of intelligence and mercy, and it is known familiarly as a flower that blooms in the world after death called “the Land of Happiness”.


蓮は水面から高く茎を伸ばして花や葉をつけます。

泥水を吸い上げながらも美しい花をさかせることから、蓮の花言葉は「清らかな心」です。

仏教では、知性や慈悲の象徴とされ、死後の極楽浄土に咲く花として親しまれています。
